Wintertime in Texas!

It's time to wrap those pipes! Frigid temperatures bring a heightened risk of frozen pipes and there are actions you can take to lessen those chances. Placing bib covers on the outside water spigots and wrapping them in old socks, towels and rags can be a big help. Make sure to keep those under sink cabinets open, especially those facing outside walls. If you are going to be away from your home, make sure you've taken precautions to keep the interior temperature of your home warm.

So who is Matt?

Matt was raised in Temple, TX by great parents. His father was a 32-year State Farm Agent. Saying that Matt was raised in the insurance business would be very accurate. He began working for his father as soon as he could drive and would inspect properties for his dad's agency. Matt graduated Stephen F Austin State University with a BAAS in Journalism but didn't stop his education there. He subsequently earned the ChFC, CLU and Chartered Advisor for Senior Living designations from The American College.

Matt and his wife Dawn met while both working for State Farm in Austin, TX in the late 90's and recently celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary. Dawn works at a local church as their finance manager. Matt and Dawn have 3 children, Morgan, Hayden and Madison. They are proud that Morgan earned her undergraduate and masters degrees from the University of Arkansas. After playing a year of college baseball at DePauw University, Hayden transferred to the University of Arkansas where he is pursuing his bachelors degree. Madison is a political science major with her eyes set on law school. Woo Pig Sooie!!

Matt is very involved in the Fort Worth and Aledo communities, serving on several boards, chairing a city commission, volunteering his time working with youth, coaching and volunteering with local non-profits.
